
About Mohammed Idris
Biography
Mohammed Idris is a public servant, publisher, public relations professional, and politician, appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in August 2023 as Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation.
A Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, he founded Blueprint Newspapers, Bifocal Group (a public relations consultancy), and Kings Broadcasting Ltd (owners of WE 106.5 FM).
He also served as the General Secretary of NPAN and was Director of Strategic Communications for the Tinubu-Shettima Campaign in 2023.

Born in Gbako LGA of Niger State, Idris holds Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in English from Usmanu Danfodiyo University (1987) and Bayero University Kano (1995).
As Minister, his focus is on revamping Nigeria’s public information systems and fostering a conducive media environment. He enjoys reading and networking.
